The Cambodian Indigenous Youth Association (CIYA) has originally been established in 2005 by group of indigenous people and has officially been recognized by Ministry of Interior as an association in 2008.

CIYA is an association of indigenous students based in Phnom Penh. CIYA has developed a strategic objective as to build capacity of indigenous communities through the sharing of knowledge and experiences, provide support for indigenous tertiary student, promote indigenous culture, language and identity, promote awareness of IP’s rights, connect communities and organizations through networking and relationship brokering and encouraging solidarity and mutual understanding between IP and other Cambodians.

To enable CIYA to achieve its strategic objectives, Heinrich Boell Foundation is sharing its office space with CIYA to have them voiced their concerns and have a strong representation to wider public.
